		<description>What&#039;s interesting is that facebook is betting on the fact that people will use posting to their wall, etc. on deals/things that they are purchasing to introduce viral spread of a deal.  In my research (and even FB&#039;s own attempts) people don&#039;t really buy products via FB.  So it&#039;s a definite change of tactics to get into this side of the market.  Of course you could have a business page and offer these discounts/offers today w/o issue via a simple post.  

The deals market in the US is getting crazy (groupon, livingsocial and 50+ others) are now offering these group purchasing models.  The FB model doesn&#039;t appear to be like this - more for local coupons if you do some thing like check-in to a place or your friend checks in.  So targeting foursquare, scvngr, gowalla, etc. as you mentioned.  It&#039;s funny most people don&#039;t even mention scvngr in articles and they are funded by google ventures...
